1. REPORTS FROM THE SERVICE ADVISERS

General Lawson mentioned the escape story published without submission by the News Chronicle. Mr. Francis Williams to consider what action should be taken.

2. CO-OPERATION WITH THE U.S.A. in BROADCASTING MATTERS

Mr. Ogilvie asked whether the Minister had agreed that time should be given to the U.S.A. on the B.B.C. European Service. D.G. to ask the Minister.

(The Minister has now agreed on condition that the U.S.A. give similar facilities for British broadcasting in the U.S.A).

3. CENSORSHIP IN RANGOON OF RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA MATERIAL DESTINED FOR CHINA.

It was agreed that no indication of H.M.G.’s general policy in such matters could be given to the Governor of Burma. As regards 452 -2-the specific point at issue D.G. undertook to consult the Foreign Office.

4. PROPAGANDA TO SPAIN.

The Committee approved Mr. Grubb's proposals for dealing with suggestions from the Madrid Embassy about a Spanish correspondent.
