1 . RETORTS FROM THE SERVICE ADVISERS.

2. MENTION OF NAMES OF SERVICE PERSONNEL IN CONNECTION WITH ACTS OF GALLANTRY.

It was agreed that there was as yet insufficient evidence to determine what was the American policy and it was therefore premature to consider any alteration in our policy.

3. REQUESTS BY ALLIED GOVERNMENTS FOR INFORMATION DERIVED FROM POSTAL AND TELEGRAPH CENSORSHIP.

It was agreed that the present policy of refusing such information should be maintained.

4. EVACUATION OF MINISTRY STAFF FROM SINGAPORE.

It was agreed that Mr. Grubb should prepare a plan in case of need.

5. APPOINTMENT OF PRESS ATTACHÉ IN MOSCOW.

Mr. Grubb reported that Mr. Michael Foot had refused the appointment.

6. BEHAVIOUR OF MINISTRY OF SUPPLY SPEAKERS IN YORKSHIRE.

Mr. Gates to discuss with D.G. what action should be taken vis-a-vis the Ministry of Supply.
